Get environement in Visual Studio Code Debugger

tblaudez Source

I am working on a C programm and I use VSC to debug. I want to get, use and modify the environ variable called from the main function:

int main(int ac, char **av, char **environ)

When running the program the environ variable is correctly assigned and contains the environement variable.
However, when using VSC debugger, it tells me that *environ is NULL and calls a segfault when I dereference *environ.
I am aware that I can specify an environement from the lauch.json file but I was wondering if they was another (easier) way to 'fix' that issue.
I am on OS X 10.12 and I use VSC Version 1.27.2.
